FAQ

Common questions

Everything you need to know before submitting your first piece of content.

Does a DrQ Score replace ABPI certification?

No. ABPI certification (Clause 8) is a legal requirement for promotional material and must be completed by a registered medical practitioner or pharmacist employed by the company. DrQ Score is an independent quality signal that operates alongside — not instead of — your MLR process.

Can a company pay to improve their score?

No. Scores are determined solely by the criteria applied to the content. Companies cannot pay to increase, remove or suppress a score. If you believe a score is incorrect, you can submit a formal appeal with supporting evidence.

Who performs the assessments?

Assessments are conducted by qualified healthcare professionals and regulatory affairs specialists with ABPI signatory experience. All assessors are independent of the companies being assessed.

What content types can be assessed?

HCP portals, promotional materials, medical education resources, patient-facing health information, disease awareness campaigns, congress materials and digital health content. If it's pharmaceutical or medical and publicly accessible, we can score it.

How long does assessment take?

Standard turnaround is 5 working days. Professional plan subscribers get 3-day turnaround. Emergency 48-hour assessments are available on request for an additional fee.

How does the embeddable badge work?

You paste two lines of code onto your page. The badge renders inside an iframe served from our servers — meaning the score cannot be altered, faked or styled by the host site. Every badge load is logged and the score is always current.

How often does content need to be re-assessed?

DrQ Score assessments are valid for 24 months, mirroring the ABPI Code's 2-year review cycle. We send renewal reminders at 20 months. Scores that expire are automatically greyed out on the badge until renewal.

Is the scoring criteria publicly available?

Yes. Our full 22-criterion rubric is published openly on our website and on GitHub. We believe transparency about how we score is fundamental to credibility as an independent body.
